Bully Voice Actor comments on sequel rumors
Bully voice actor Gerry Rosenthal’s comments contribute to the case that rumors of a 2019 Bully 2 sequel were unfounded.

One of the main centers of speculation has been a potential sequel to Brute. This speculation was fueled by a wave of rumors in 2019, which included “screenshots” of the game. Little was said about a potential. Bully 2 released since, and now the doubler of the original BruteThe protagonist of the latter further crushes speculation.
A recently revamped episode of the Awfully Irish podcast included an interview with Gerry Rosenthal, who voiced Jimmy Hopkins. As of July 2020, Rosenthal says he has not been contacted by Rockstar regarding the possibility of doing voice work for Bully 2. Rosenthal also dismisses the counter that he could be on NDA. As far as a Rosenthal knows, there is no Bully 2 in development.
While Rosenthal’s comments seem dissuasive, they are not exhaustive. Rockstar may develop Bully 2 without involving either the character of Jimmy Hopkins or Rosenthal as voice actor. It wouldn’t even be surprising. Rockstar is well known for leaving its protagonists behind with each new iteration of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Bully 2 could follow this style away, rather than follow the continuity of Red Dead Redemption.
At the moment, however, it seems that the possibility of a Brute the rest is getting thinner. While it is true that there had been rumors about a sequel in 2019, there weren’t any substantial side rumors in 2020. Bully 2 has largely been Rockstar’s continued speculation and Brute fan communities. And while the rumors may seem unsuccessful at the moment, these communities are likely to persist.
In fact, even the most reliable evidence of a Brute the sequel in development, screenshots supposedly leaked, have been debunked since it dropped in 2019. A Brazilian artist named Felipe Borges has confirmed that they have Bully 2 screenshots, which have gone viral in the Brute fandom. In addition, other rumors regarding a completed script for Bully 2 at Rockstar were awarded to a canceled project started as early as 2008. The rumors have not stood the test of time.
Rockstar Games can still make a Brute continued again. Brute remains an interesting concept and Rockstar has shown they are ready to revisit their past franchises, as with Red Dead Redemption 2. There is simply no definitive evidence that Rockstar is developing such a sequel at this time. As for the proof that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development at Rock star, that’s a whole different story.
