Lenawee County Cultural Organizations Receive Grants – Entertainment – The Daily Telegram – Adrian, MI
Four organizations in Lenawee County recently received grants to support arts and culture activities.
The Adrian Symphony Orchestra, Manitou Beach Historic Renovation Society, Adrian District Library, and the Town of Tecumseh were the recipients of the Ann Arbor Arts Alliance minigrants. A total of 13 organizations in Southeast Michigan have received Arts Alliance grants.
The Alliance des arts donated a total of $ 25,700 in minigrants to 13 organizations.
The Town of Tecumseh received $ 4,000, ASO received $ 1,425, the Manitou Beach Historic Renovation Society received $ 1,245 and the Adrian District Library received $ 1,200.
The Arts Alliance administered the grants program on behalf of the Michigan Arts and Cultural Affairs Council (MCACA). The award money must alleviate some of the financial stress caused to these organizations and nonprofits due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Alliance des arts awarded two grants to the 13 organizations: grants for professional and organizational development and minigrant artistic and cultural projects.
The ASO and the Manitou Beach Historic Renovation Society both received professional and organizational development grants, while the town of Tecumseh and the Adrian District Library received mini-grants for arts and culture projects.
Professional and Organizational Development Grants help nonprofit and cultural organizations, artists, cultural specialists, administrators and educators with opportunities that specifically improve their management or bring the individual or organization to a other level professionally or artistically.
Minigrating arts and culture projects support the production, presentation and creation of artistic and cultural programs that promote audience engagement, diversity, lifelong learning, and help improve livability in communities.
The MCACA board approved $ 91.6 million in arts and culture grants to be distributed statewide at its October 15 meeting.
The Arts Alliance received a total of $ 83,500, of which $ 42,000 was repaid, and the balance of $ 35,500 supports regranting operations and administration.
