Weird and unrealistic situations in Bollywood movies that will never happen in real life

Cinema has always been a way to escape reality and immerse yourself in a world of fantasy, fantasy and drama. We all found ourselves immersed in the intrigue we watch on screen, abandoning who we are and our problems for a while. Bollywood movies have always provided us with that great escape we needed, plus a little extra.

Known for his melodrama, kahaani mein twists and turns, and extravagant stories, Bollywood has always exceeded our expectations and sometimes (well, most of the time) has gone a little too far with its stories. Here are 7 weird and unrealistic situations that can only happen in Bollywood movies:

1. Secret Judwaas

A very popular and recurring theme for Bollywood films in the 80s, we have all watched films where the protagonist does not know the existence of a long lost twin. Most often, this judwaa always turns out to be miserable and evil without reason and finds the hero to take revenge. Almost NEVER arrives in IRL, right?

2. Miraculous survivals

The hero falls from a cliff with his car, drowns in the ocean or is torn apart in a plane crash. Yet he survives. Here we are, it takes weeks to recover from a mild cold and the dramatic hero doesn’t even need medical care half the time. After all, he’s the hero, right?

3. Dance in sync, ALWAYS!

It doesn’t matter if they happen in the middle of a road full of cars stuck in traffic or vibrating with a few beats in a nightclub. When the protagonists of Bolly dance, they are always synchronized. Period! And here we are, practicing for our friends sangeet for months in advance and always get the steps to the bare minimum.

4. Renaissance AKA Doosra Janam

You and I may not remember what we ate for dinner two nights ago, but these damn movies seem to have flashbacks of their previous births! What? Superstitious or not, it is difficult to believe that there is a life other than that which is currently living, not to mention finding lovers of pichle janams.

5. Absolute hatred turns into love

This only happens in geese pite Bollywood love stories that the two protagonists of the film – the hero and the heroine – start out as sworn enemies and end up falling in love with each other. The degrading and disrespectful behavior of the man is considered disguised love and the girl falls in love with him anyway. No sir, it’s 2020 and we only accept love, respect and commitment as qualifiers for a long term relationship. Next!

6. Physically challenging action sequences

Gandhiji would be so disappointed if his ghost was forced to sit in a Rohit Shetty film where unnecessary violence is unleashed almost every 20 minutes! Since some of us like to watch action packed movies, we always like to see realistic fights and not physics-defying violence where one of the hero’s punches sends help from the bad guys flying through the warehouse.

7. Enter the song and dance anytime, anywhere!

Unlike Hollywood movies which have a separate genre called musicals, all Bollywood movies are musicals where the cast gets randomized into song and dance regardless of the situation. We like to imagine ourselves at the top of a Swiss mountain dancing in our arms, but face reality: we cannot afford it.
