This is because families were preoccupied with painting and drawing as a display of togetherness and to give children something to notice while on the walk.

But you don’t have to stop at color or crayons. The children of Scarlett and Leo Cara Ghiglieri made a stunning rainbow using cardboard and rubbed crepe paper.

Here’s where that crepe paper comes from again. Basically the crosses cross from one wall to the next, leaving only small gaps for the children to break through. See if I can go through the course without tearing the paper.

4 Hama beads

Kids can do all kinds of designs with Hama beads. Whether it’s Minion, Animal or Harry Potter, there are various types of patterns that can be copied from the internet.

Once they have created this on a plastic board for your pendant, it is your job to iron it and connect it. You can also turn them into key or magnet pendants.

6 pebbles

Gravel art has been something in recent years that people decorate rocks and leave them in parks and other places that people can find.

Given the current climate, people don’t share them right now, but that doesn’t stop families from having fun.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

Something as simple as felt tips does the trick on brighter rocks, and the kids decorate them however they want – some of them make funny faces.

If you want them to last longer, you might want to use acrylic paint coated with varnish to give you an extra layer of protection.

7 Playdoh

Play-Doh is another old favorite and can keep them entertained for hours. Whether they want to make a dinosaur, an elephant, a car or a castle on their own, the possibilities are endless. If you manage not to strain by mixing colors, it can be a lot of fun. And if you don’t have Play-Doh, it’s pretty easy to make your own. All you need is:

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • half to 1 cup cold water
  • 2 drops of liquid food coloring

8 People with wallpaper

If you have an old roll of wallpaper or any other paper for that matter, lie on it a little and pull it around. Amazing how long it will take to paint. You might also want to make a background mom, dad or sister. Why not?

We used old scrap and found the background around my son’s body. He then selected a different organ of the body each day to investigate, draw and paste on the body with the key fact below. The nice thing is that it took several days for him to be able to work on his own while repeating the activity.

9 Pens and postcards

The art of writing letters seems to be coming back as people form penpal groups to write to other children.

If you want to keep it local – and make sure it comes from a trusted group – then a lot of Facebook groups have shared those in their areas. If you could not suggest this to parents at school, for children to write to each other while outside.

LOL Surprise is doing her best to write children and has launched her own BFF Pen Pal campaign. To combat the feeling of separation during social distance, the toy brand has released a number of free postcard templates that you can download from your Web page.

The brand also shares regular content for free activities on its social media channels, including quizzes, games, coloring sheets, dance challenges, and more. Parents can follow #BBsBoredomBusters every day to find new activities.

A lot of retailers sell starter kits, such as Original organic. Amazon. Dobies and more.

11 Printing potatoes

If he’s good enough for Daddy’s pig, then he’s good enough for us. Most of us have old potatoes lying at the bottom of the cabinets.

Hopefully it will still be able to carve out a shape to use as a color seal. Make some patterns and you could end up with the artwork to treasure.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

12 sun catchers

Another thing that will help us beautify our homes is to catch the sun and they are relatively cheap to download.

Hobbycraft has a wide range of £ 1.30 each, including baby initials, unicorns, rockets, fish and more. They also come with mini color pots.

You may miss the annual Easter egg decorating competition at school – not necessarily bad – but that doesn’t mean you can’t do your own design at home.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

15 Bird Box

Who doesn’t like watching birds feed in the garden, especially when little is happening at the moment.

Families have also taken to making their own bird feeders, using only a large bottle of four pounds of milk. Felt tips are all that is needed to dye plastic, but people have glued paper, feathers, and other things to make them bright and colorful.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

16 Drive-In Movie

You don’t need a movie to ride when you can make your own.

It’s quite easy to turn a big cardboard box into your own car, and they can help paint it. Insert the pillow inside, give them a few movie snacks, paste the film and there you have it.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

17 Make a watch

We all got a little more time, so why not take advantage of the kids learning how to tell the time exactly – by making their own watch.

You can do this with just paper and a needle to attach your hands to, or a cardboard or paper board might do the trick.

You can make it as detailed or as simple as you want, but writing before quarter, half, quarter, and midnight / hour in the right places will help them achieve the essence.

18 Treasure Hunt / Nature

There are various types of indoor or outdoor entertainment in search of treasure.

Give each child a bag with a list showing what they need to find – leaf, flower, stick, stone – you will get a picture.

You can use the objects collected to take a picture of nature later or print the sheets.

And if you want to stay indoors, why not hide letters or words around the house. They can find them and then use them to make words and sentences. They won’t even realize they’re learning.

The Woodland Trust offers many ideas for hunting for nature removal here.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

19 Fimo

Not all children are happy about their precious playdoh creation – a step forward our trusted Fimo.

They can use this clay to model in the same way – to make all kinds of creations – but they are baked in the oven, so they keep their masterpiece forever (or until they decide to grind them).

You can buy large packages of items containing a variety of colors or individual packages of approximately £ 2.75.

As with Ham beads, they can also easily be turned into magnets and key chains, so they may be given to friends and family when they see them again.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

20 gingerbread houses

You may be lucky to have a whale left over from Christmas – one that you never forgot to make. If not, you can order it for less than bird skin eBay.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

21 bug hunting

If you have a bug lover, they will love to go out into the garden and find some snails, snails, and any other creatures hanging around.

Gather them, maybe get a microscope to get a good look at them and release them until your next hunt.

If you are thinking of a larger scale then RSPB has a guide for making your own bug hotel here.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

Yours could shelter anything, from hedgehogs, frogs and loneliness, to ladies and loggers.

If you want to know more about the creatures in your garden, former BBC1 presenter Andy Johnson did it for free interactive films for elementary school children in gardens and nature.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

23 Hand prints

It’s always nice to get handprints and footprints from your little ones to capture that moment in time.

Why not get the whole family involved like Natalie Jones here – she created a picture from the prints of everyone in the house. She just needs a frame big enough to fit it now.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

24 McDonald’s

You can’t do much with a cardboard box, but mom Anna Taggart made it special for her children Noah and Mason by making their own McDonald’s drive-thru.

Using crayon tips and crayons – and even putting the speaker aside – they used their Little Tikes vehicle to pull over and place orders.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

Take it a step further and make the kids do it homemade McDonald’s happy meal as actor on Coronation Street Alan Halsall did for his daughter Siena.

The six-year-old missed her McDonald’s while she was in prison, so she made her own version with fries, mugs and a fruit drink with a toy – along with a mini bottle of ketchup in a box labeled ‘McDaddy’.

(Image: Alan Halsall Twitter)

25 Easter tree

People decorate their Christmas trees as Easter trees – and why not.

Rabbits, eggs, chickens and more are jumping on the trees that are being pulled from the attic this spring and are giving a new lease of life.

Mum Laura Bell decorated her 3-year-old daughter, Hettie, and even managed to prevent her eight-month-old Sebastian from removing the decorations again.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

26 Easter greetings

You can’t beat handmade cards from kids, especially if you can send them to relatives you may not see for a while.

They can be as detailed or basic as you like, but it’s another excuse to get those handprints and feet out again.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

27 Easter covers

This is somewhat of a tradition in kindergartens, but a lot of people will still spend it at home this year. If you can’t get to the store to pick up the bonnet, then any old hat will do.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

It may not sound interesting, but there are all kinds of games you can play with paper cups.

See who can stack them the most without falling, see who can knock them all off the ball.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

It just needs the back of a cereal box and a few felt tips, and it can be copied to any area – bring in all the sights your kids will recognize.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

31 Tea Party

If you have several children, they can enjoy a tea party together, but even just children can enjoy it with a little imagination.

Impossible to do so, she summoned her toys instead – giving them each her own invitation and getting it ready for a special day.

They enjoyed the treasure hunt in the garden and passed the plot. We can probably guess who won the prize!

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

32 Decorating a kitchen towel

You don’t need a coloring book with care when you have some towels in the kitchen.

With fine felt tips, you can paint the dots in different colors. Who knew a kitchen roll might look so good.

(Image: Manchester Evening News)

All you need is the sun for this, though you could always use a lamp if needed.
