The first night of the historic WrestleMania 36 is in the books and now attention is turning to a night two titled by Drew McIntyre against Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship and John Cena against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Funhouse match.

Beyond the games themselves, there are intriguing intrigue surrounding many of the night’s matches that are worth watching.

These are among the most interesting.

In 2009, Vince McMahon called Drew McIntyre The Chosen One and almost immediately, the young Scottish was in a position to take SmackDown by storm. He won the Intercontinental Championship, became one of the most hated heels in the industry thanks to an efficient reservation and remained unbeaten until a defeat against The Undertaker the following spring.

Despite all the first successes, McIntyres’ career has stammered. Whether it was complacency or a fall in favor politically, he dropped the card until he was stuck in the comedy going from nowhere from 3MB and finally released in 2014.

Determined to return, to prove that his time in the most prestigious struggles was not a coincidence, he devoted himself to improving by working in as many different companies, against as many wrestlers of styles and horizons as different as possible.

Upon his return to the company in 2016, he made him ready to raise hell, kick ass and win titles.

He did that, dominating NXT before moving on to the main lineup. At the top or near the mark under which it appeared, McIntyre waited for its time. In the 2020 Royal Rumble match, he struck, knocking out WWE champion Brock Lesnar, former title holder Roman Reigns, and cashing in for the Sunday WrestleMania 36 main tournament.

It was a long and arduous journey to the top of an industry to which the Scottish psychopath has dedicated his career, the first with twists and turns, in the form of a coronavirus pandemic that almost canceled his career-defining game.

Time will tell if his story is one with a happy ending.

At WrestleMania 30, Bray Wyatt lost the most important game of his young career against John Cena. Given that he won WWE and the world championships in the years that followed, it sounds like a hyperbolic statement, but after further exploration, this defeat set off a downward spiral in mediocrity and a creative abyss.

Her words carried less weight. He was less credible. He has lost a lot more than he has won, including some top matches against other stars. It became the heel that was built to be beaten rather than a dominant force around which intrigue could be built.

When nonsense with Matt Hardy was played out in 2018, he had no choice but to disappear and reinvent himself. He did, becoming the insane cousin of Fred Rogers, a children’s entertainer with a dark alter ego.

As a demon, it has become a whole new manifestation of evil Wyatts. He is horrible, unpredictable and desperately needs a definitive victory to entrench him firmly at the top of the map.

Sure, he has quality wins over Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan, but his world championship defeat against Goldberg let fans relive WWE Creatives’ reluctance to pull the proverbial trigger against industry giants.

On Sunday evening, during the Firefly Funhouse match, Wyatt has the chance to rewrite history and avenge the greatest loss of his career against Cena. A victory finally gives him final victory and the sign of management approval and a true icon of the industry.

A loss and a story will threaten to repeat itself.

The last time Edge set foot on the WrestleMania stage as an active competitor, he defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio in 2011. This match, good enough for what it was, but within a week, The Rated R Superstar was renouncing its title and withdrawing from an industry that had left its neck a mutilated mess.

A trip to Hollywood and acting jobs in the two SyFys Haven and stories Vikings occupied him, but left him the desire to conclude his career in the ring on his own terms.

Another surgery, unremitting efforts to rehabilitate his body and get back into a ring shape paid off and at Royal Rumble 2020, he returned to a roaring ovation from fans just as eager to see him again.

Arguably the best constructed scenario leading to The Showcase of the Immortals, Edge’s quarrel with Randy Orton prepared the hero for another memorable night at the most prestigious wrestling event.

It remains to be seen whether graying veterinarians can deliver a match that appropriately brings the creativity behind it, but one thing is certain: the return of Edge WrestleMania caps off one of the most unlikely returns of all time and provides most unique corporate event with a history of legitimate well-being.

To be the man, you have to beat the man.

Determined to prove that legendary Nature Boy Ric Flair is right, female champion Rhea Ripley becomes the first full-time NXT star to compete in WrestleMania this year when she faces her daughter Charlotte in the most important game of her young career.

Ripley is a graduate of the gunsmiths business in Florida, as part of the NXT live events, at the NXT Womens Championship. The woman who ended Shayna Baszlers’ reign of brand dominance, she has apparently been ready for big things for the past year.

Sunday will be its first monumental event.

Flair is a measuring stick in professional wrestling and in particular at WrestleMania. It was here that she won the WWE Women’s Championship, ended Asuka’s 914-day winning streak, and made history as a third of the first female main event.

The champion 10 times has done everything there is to do in her field and now looks back on her modest beginnings in NXT to chart her next achievement.

Ripley is new to this field. She has never competed on a stage as big or against an opponent as decorated and as big as The Queen. This match, more than anything, gives the young Australian girl who has been repeatedly compared to her opponent since arriving in the United States, the opportunity to become the WWE star hopes that she is in just one night.

A performance worthy of the stage and it does. A slippage creates doubt and, potentially, a major setback in its development.

Dolph Ziggler is double world champion, double champion of the United States, six times intercontinental champion, three titles of champion and Money in the Bank. He was the star player in what was arguably the best and most moving cash-in in WWE history.

The self-proclaimed Show Off worked alongside everyone from Ric Flair to John Cena, Triple H to Shawn Michaels, Roman Reigns to Goldberg while amassing a body of work that any Superstar would be so fortunate to to be able to appreciate.

However, after about 15 years of WWE career, he only participated in his first singles match at WrestleMania in his battle with Otis on Sunday night, culminating in a hot scenario centered on the affection of Mandy Rose.

It is almost time.

One of society’s most altruistic performers, a guy who has given him so much more than ever, Ziggler is preparing for a story-packed match against one of the most charismatic young stars on the list. He will jostle, as he tends to do, and show that arrogance and confidence that have been an essential part of his character from day one.

Win or lose, he will finally achieve an exploit that he has long deserved and long refused.

An unfortunate rib injury to US champion Andrade paved the way for former champion Evolve and newcomer NXT Austin Theory. As we learned during the March 30 episode of Raw, Theory will team up with Angel Garza to challenge The Street Profits for the red brands’ team titles.

While this is a match that does not necessarily allow for an individual celebrity, it does have the potential to be a showcase for the young star.

The theory didn’t get to that point because he was in the Performance Center when WWE Creative needed someone to replace Andrade. He is in the game because Paul Heyman, Triple H and Vince McMahon believe in him enough to put the untested competitor in the game.

Now it will be up to him to pay for this belief and prove to any skeptic that he belongs to the place.

If the fun and energetic Six-Man Tag Team Match he participated in at the last Raw show before Sunday is any indication, there is certainly potential to offer a show thief with three other young stars looking to break into of the legendary event.

Paige’s announcement that Bayley will defend her SmackDown Womens Championship against Naomi, Lacey Evans, Tamina and her best friend Sasha Banks in a 5-way fatal elimination match not only stacks the game against the best competitor in the division, but throws also the basics of its banking division.

We saw as many on Friday in SmackDown, when they bickered during the comments and, before that, when Banks reacted to Bayleys’ allegations that they were better together together in a way that would suggest that she was feeling different.

Expect the first chapter of this break to be written on WrestleMania on Sunday.

It won’t cause a major explosion, but rather it will allow fans to see what the abolition of their friendship on the screen will look like. Will Bayley stay the heel while Banks turns around again? It may be the reverse.

Whatever the case, and whatever the dissent, it’s a story that should catch your eye on the second day of this extravagance this year.
