Emily Hampshire, star of "Schitt’s Creek", joins Jerusalems Lot "at Epix – Variety
Emily Hampshire, best known for playing the motel worker in "Schitt’s Creek", has been launched in an upcoming Epix series.
She will join Adrien Brody in "Jerusalem’s Lot", a drama based on the story of Stephen King that takes place in the 1850s, which received a serial commission late last year.
"Jerusalem's Lot" follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who moves his family of three to his ancestral home in the seemingly sleepy little town of Preacher's Corners, Maine, after the death of his wife at sea. However, Charles will soon face the secrets of his family's sordid history and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.
Hampshire will play Rebecca Morgan, an ambitious young woman who left Preacher’s Corners to go to Mount Holyoke College, and returned home early to write a story for the new and prestigious Atlantic Magazine. Her writer's block comes up when Boone arrives in town with her children, and despite protests from her mother, Rebecca asks to be governess of the infamous Chapelwaite Mansion and the Boone family in order to write about them. In doing so, Rebecca will not only create the next great Gothic novel, she will unveil a mystery that has tormented her own family for years.
