Tampa Mayor Jane Castor launches virtual dance party for ‘some much needed fun’
TAMPA, Fla. – It’s a tough time right now, but the mayor of Tampa wants to bring the community together for some fun – almost, of course.
Mayor Jane Castor has joined forces with iHeartMedia to launch nightly dance and karaoke parties. The best part is that you don’t have to leave your home to participate.
Castor said every evening at 6:00 pm, turn on your favorite radio station to join the Mayor of Jane’s Karaoke Dance Party.
“I know times are tough, but that’s why we need to come together as a community now more than ever – even if it’s online and over the air,” Castor said. “This is an opportunity to go out, have a little rest and have fun. In Tampa, even though we are separate, we are never alone; and by tuning in to the same music, we can take a moment to sing, dance and find a way to be happy at home. There is nothing like great music that will strengthen the spirit of our community and remind us that we will go through this together. “
Castor also encourages listeners to take the party outside, as long as you practice social distance with your neighbors.
