The annual summertime tradition has been canceled due to a new coronavirus.

Hamburg Family Fun Fest fans will have to wait until next year. This summer the event is set for June 17-20.

“This year, it was planned to leave the community with many happy memories that will be discussed and remembered for years to come. Instead, 2020 brought with it a worldwide pandemic that caused a ban on mass gatherings,” said Joanna Hardesty, president of HERO , the organization planning the festival, is out.

Hardesty said the festival will return on June 16 and 19, 2021.

“With this ban, the Stay at Home order, irrelevant business closures and closed schools for the rest of the year, Michigan has been declared a disastrous condition. Unfortunately, this results in our inability to host Hamburg Family Fun Fest 2020,” Hardesty said.
