Bollywood producer Karim Morani tests positive for coronavirus
Producer Karim Morani tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday after his daughter Zoa and Shaza were also found positive for COVID-19.
This is the last case of coronavirus in Bollywood after singer Kanika Kapoor, actor Purab Kohli and daughter of actor Karim Zoa, tested positive for COVID-19. Kanika recovered.
On April 6, Shaza Morani and his actress sister Zoa Morani had tested positive for the coronavirus and underwent treatment for the same in different hospitals.
“Karim Bhai has tested positive. The results arrived this morning. He will be in Nanavati for treatment. His wife and other house staff have been negative,” said Karims brother Mohammed Morani.
Karim has supported many Bollywood films, including Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One, Chennai Express, Happy New Year and Dilwale. Shaza and Zoa are doing well. Shaza will undergo two more tests, Mohammed said.
Shaza, who returned from Sri Lanka in the first week of March, showed no symptoms but was tested positive and admitted to Nanavati hospital. While Zoa, who returned from Rajasthan in mid-March, had some symptoms. It was initially negative but later found positive for the virus.
The Morani family members and the housekeeper are in quarantine. According to the Ministry of Health, since Wednesday morning, the death toll from COVID-19 has risen to 149 with 5,194 cases in the country.
