TOTO: Silent media stone on hypocrisy Alyssa Milanos

Alyssa Milano is now generating more headlines for her politics than her Hollywood roles.

The seasoned actress renamed herself a full-time activist after the election of Donald Trumps. Now the media cover every movement or thought, especially with regard to Milanese activism #MeToo.

This also applies to traditional Hollywood journalists as traditional scribes.

It was interrupted this week. The same liberal bias that infects mainstream media is even more pronounced in entertainment journalism.

I was just seeing this now.

Conservative media have called Alum Charmed for ignoring the credible and serious allegation of sexual assault against former Vice President Joe Biden.

Tara Reade, a former employee of the presidential candidate, said that Biden assaulted her in 1993, but had struggled to publicize her story over the years.

Milano supported Bidens’ current presidential candidacy months ago. More recently, it has remained silent after Reades’ shocking allegation was made public. For this, his Charmed co-star, Rose McGowan, criticized her as a fraud.

Milano broke its silence on the subject this week, explaining to friendly interviewer Andy Cohen why Bidens’ allegation shouldn’t derail his presidential dreams.

I don’t feel comfortable throwing away a decent man whom I have known for 15 years in this time of complete chaos, she told Cohen. Believe that all women, we were suddenly told, came with a big asterisk.

Given Milanos’ silence, his position in the #MeToo hierarchy and his recent fame, his honking double standard should have been the catnip of the Hollywood media. Think of The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline.com, Variety and TheWrap.com.

Still, good-faith internet research on all of these platforms has shown that they treat the Milan confession like a dog bite story from Smalltown, in the United States.

They ignored it.

Variety has even less excuse than other outlets. The site previously published an editorial from Milan, so it’s clearly linked to the starlet.

For example, Variety released Milanos rant exciting Brett Kavanaugh based on an allegation of sexual abuse as fragile as any recent memory.

We have heard President Trump and Justice Kavanaugh himself say that he was the real victim. And from this group of 11 Republican men on the Judiciary Committee, we have heard of what a great man, Kavanaugh is. Even after Dr. Fords’ powerful accusations became public, these men painted a picture of the honest father of carpool with integrity.

Yet Variety thought Milanos’ comments on Biden weren’t worth a single story?

It’s not just entertainment sites that ignore Milanos’ obvious double standard. Enter Alyssa Milano Biden in Google News and you will only see conservative outlets covering the subject.

Hypocrisy is one of the main drivers of news on any subject. A pro-life politician paying his lover to have an abortion. A climate change warrior whose home has a massive carbon footprint.

The same goes for a loud and proud feminist who ignores a woman’s cry for justice, the same cry that has too often been ignored in our world before Harvey Weinstein.

The biggest question remains. Why would stores ignore such an interesting story? Don’t they care about the traffic and, more importantly, the ad revenue from viral stories?

Perhaps.

However, they care much more about protecting Hollywood stars whose worldview aligns with theirs. It is impossible to report on the recent interview with Milanos Cohen and find any other conclusion than that which is not sincere about the #MeToo movement.

To put it bluntly, Reades poignant story matters much less than Bidens’ presidential aspirations.

Of course, Milano is not alone in its silence. The vast majority of Hollywood stars took a knee after the Biden allegation surfaced. McGowan is perhaps the most notable actor to speak on the issue.

Their famous peers were silent on the matter, another blow to their #MeToo activism.

This episode also reveals how much we have to trust entertainment journalists when a story crosses the political landscape.

Forget, if it bleeds, it leads. The new mantra is, all the news that needs to be printed assuming it supports our progressive agenda.
