Lady Gaga announces "The Chromatica Ball" tour with stops in 6 cities
Lady Gaga may be coming to a town near you.
The 33-year-old singer announced Thursday in a press release that she will hit the road for the tour "The Chromatica Ball", "a special limited series of 6 cities worldwide of exclusive performances".
Stops include: Paris (July 24), London (July 30), Boston (August 5), Toronto (August 9), Chicago (August 14) and East Rutherford, New Jersey (August 19).
General tickets for shows in Paris, London and Toronto will go on sale Friday, March 13. For Boston, Chicago and EastRutherford, tickets go on sale Monday, March 16.
The announcement of the tour comes in the wake of Gaga's latest single, "Stupid Love", which was released with a spectacular video clip that exploded with the use of bright colors by pop stars , closely choreographed group dances and a somewhat disconcerting scenario.
In the video, we see a Gaga with extraterrestrial pink hair dancing in an arid landscape dotted with crystalline formations. She sings lyrics like All I wanted was love, I have to trust myself and I don't need a reason. Not sorry, I want your stupid love as it bounces from one belligerent faction in monochrome outfit to the next.
At one point, she interrupts a fight: bubbling, she raises her hand in the air and levitates the two men who are quarreling. It is the intergalactic equivalent of a mom grabbing two children by the ears to stop a quarrel.
Stupid Love marked Gagas' first new music in three years.
The song is part of his upcoming sixth studio album, "Chromatica", hence the name of the tour.
