Disney + hires ‘it’s a sin’ commissioner as EMEA script manager

Disney + recently unveiled its first list of European originals and aims to order 50 productions on the continent by 2024.
Disney + has bolstered its growing operations across the Atlantic, hiring Lee Mason as director of scripted content for the EMEA region.
Mason joined after almost a decade to UK network Channel 4, where he served as drama commissioner and was behind hit shows such as It’s a sin and The end of the fucking world. He will report to Liam Keelan, Disney + VP on original content for the EMEA region and work alongside the streamer’s other director of scripted content, Johanna Devereaux.
The appointment is the second Channel 4 poaching Disney + has done this year, with Sean Doyle joining as EMEA Director of General Unscripted Entertainment.
