Two Slane concerts expected in 2022
Slane Castle owner Lord Henry Mountcharles has said he is considering the possibility of hosting two concerts at the iconic venue next year.
“This year is dead for a live show,” he said in a statement. “I was hoping something could happen, but it seems almost impossible.
“We’re planning one show – and quite possibly two – next year. I see him coming back in the summer of 2022 and I want to come back with a big show.”
“We will come back next year with a big number and I am certainly considering the possibility of two separate acts,” he continued.
“I’m always very selective and cautious about Slane – not everyone can play here. There are world class artists and a host of Irish talent too, which I keep an eye on.”

The last band to hit Slane’s front page was Metallica in June 2019. U2 topped two shows in Slane in August and September 2001, with Bon Jovi and Eminem headlining Slane two months apart. in 2013.
Lord Mountcharles has also said he is considering a closed-door concert broadcast live later this year to mark the 40th anniversary of the first concert in Slane, which was titled by Thin Lizzy.
