Zoe Kravitz trained hard during the lockdown in preparation for her role as Catwoman in ‘The Batman’.
The “ Big Little Lies’ ‘star plays the role of Gotham City burglar Selina Kyle in Matt Reeves’ next take on DC Comics superhero who plays Robert Pattinson as The Dark Knight.
Production of the film is currently on hold due to the coronavirus crisis, but Zoé has kept herself in shape to make sure it is ready when filming resumes.
An added benefit of her rigorous exercise regimen is that the workouts have been beneficial to Zoe’s mental health.
When asked if she was exercising in quarantine, she said to Vanity Fair’s Little Gold Men podcast: “Yeah. So I mean, it’s not like the studio called and said : “Don’t get fat, bitch! “But I’ve been training now for maybe four or five months and the first two weeks when I self-quarantined, I remember texting the director, I texted Matt and I thought to myself, “ We may have to make the cat costume bigger when it’s over.
“So I quickly decided to put my s ** t together and I worked virtually with my trainer David Higgins five days a week. And it was really great because it gives me some kind of structure because I do it at the same time and it also makes weekends a weekend because I don’t train on weekends and it just gives me, oh, it’s kind of a different day. So it was really great just for my sanity. “
The 31-year-old actress – who is the daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz and “ Ray Donovan ” star Lisa Bonet – relaxed her diet during the lockdown, as wine and food are the only comforts that she has right now.
She said, “Food and wine are sort of the only things that make me happy right now. So I’m definitely eating what I want. But yes, try to stay in shape so you don’t have to start from zero.”
Zoe previously admitted that she came home “limping every day” after her workouts with Catwoman.
She said, “It’s going very well. It’s very exciting. I have also trained a ton, which has been great and difficult. It’s very physical. I limp home every day.”
