Twenty One Pilots addresses the sense of worry after a year of isolation and the desire to return to happier times on their new song “Saturday”. The single appears on the duo’s next Scale and icy album, which arrives Friday.

Tyler Joseph sings about how the days seem to blend together and feel uncertain in today’s climate and the need to regain one’s balance towards happy experiences. “Slow down on Monday / No sound on Wednesday / It could get loud on Friday,” he sings to the effervescent melody and dancing beats of the chorus. “But Saturday, Saturday, Saturday / We paint the city.”

“Saturday” follows the duo’s previous albums “Choker” and “Shy Away”. Joseph and Josh Dun shot dead Scale and icy while in the Covid-19 lockdown, with Joseph writing and largely producing, and Dun making the drums for their respective homes.

Along with the album’s release on Friday, Twenty One Pilots will host their first live concert, Twenty One Pilots – Livestream Experience, where they will live new songs from the LP. On Sunday, they are scheduled to perform at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.
