“Voice of Beijing 2022” Campaign Begins to Promote Games Abroad

Beijing 2022 has launched a new initiative that aims to promote the Winter Olympics to the international community and keep the world informed of the progress of its preparations.

The “Voice of Beijing 2022” campaign was jointly launched by the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Organizing Committee and the China Media Group (CMG) at the Beijing 2022 headquarters in Shougang Park.

It will look to take advantage of CMG’s multiple platforms, including its social media accounts at home and abroad, as well as overseas radio stations, multilingual websites and mobile applications.

“Beijing 2022 is considered to be one of China’s important milestones,” Han Zirong, vice president and general secretary of Beijing 2022, said in his speech at the ceremony.

“The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) attaches great importance to its preparation.

“The secretary general of the CPC Central Committee, Xi Jinping, has issued many instructions which serve as basic guidelines for improving our work.

“Under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, we have taken effective measures to achieve our mission of being inclusive, open, green and clean.

“Over the past five years, we have worked closely with stakeholders and moved the preparations for Beijing 2022 forward in an orderly manner.”

Han spoke about the construction of sites and infrastructure, saying all buildings will be completed by the end of 2020.

She also mentioned that there were more than 850,000 volunteer requests as well as 32 companies that became Beijing 2022 sponsors.

“Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Beijing 2022 has been implementing strict epidemic prevention and control measures, while continuing preparations in an orderly manner,” Han added.

“Beijing 2022 needs great support from the international community.

The preparations for Beijing 2022 will be mentioned on 14 overseas radio stations from 12 countries as part of their coverage.
