Virgil Abloh Launches @offwhiteseasons Backstage Instagram

Although he already has 31 independent accounts running, Off-White is now showcasing a behind-the-scenes Instagram of the fashion world. Virgil Abloh launched @off__white__seasons express the “making of” of the brand’s collections.

The inaugural series of exclusive looks comes with the launch of Off-White’s Resort 2021 men’s and women’s collection, designed by Ibrahim Kamara and photographed by Andrea Artemisio.

Talk to Vogue, Abloh said, “If I was a 17 year old kid and wanted to learn how to dress up, all I would want is a documentary or an Instagram account where I could see how the idea comes alive because then I could take it and interpret it however I want. So this story for me will be the home of future seasons; this will be the place where we can tell stories and show our process, letting people enter into the DNA of Off-White, not just the surface of Off-White.

Currently moving away from the usual runway format, @off__white__seasons provides resources for an emerging generation of budding designers. “I did Off-White to be modern, to be an investigator and to try to find new ways,” he says. You know, me and my demographic were kind of self-taught. We bent fashion to be what we want it to be.
