4 Dress Print Trends That Are Set to Dominate Summer 2024 Dressing

Often, dresses don't get the praise they deserve for their undeniable versatility, loyalty, and ability to be the answer to any “I have nothing to wear” dilemma. There's no denying that I've relied on a little black dress for a night out, a slip dress for a last-minute wedding outfit, and a lightweight linen style whenever the temperatures rise. But for summer 2024, there are so many new trends emerging that the classics can be overlooked in favor of new colors, textures, silhouettes and prints.

Buttery yellow steals the show when it comes to summer's most loved shade, crochet is key, low-rise has made a comeback, and when it comes to prints, even if the print Leopard has been the hero for a while, there is so much more to know. That's why I wanted to highlight some of the breathtaking prints, from little polkas to trendy stripes, that were spotted (some, literally) on the spring/summer runways. So if you're happy to step away from animal prints for a moment, here are the four fun prints that are poised to dominate your dress collection for the foreseeable future.

1. Peas

Big or small, polka dots and polka dots are the classic prints that make a comeback in our summer uniforms. Carolina Herrera, Stella McCartney, Balmain and Saint Lauren were among the esteemed designers who put polka dots on the Spring/Summer 2024 runway, and trust me, it's all about the dress for wedding guest looks, the piques -nices in the park and balmy evenings. on holiday.

Monochrome stripes will always have a place in your wardrobe, but for summer, a dose of dopamine kicks in. While Gabriela Hearst opted for punchy stripes in textured crochet, Emilia Wickstead put the retro mini back on the map in '70s hues. And I, for one, will be embracing these inspiring dresses, with help from brands like Mango, Kitri and Rixo.

There is no wall flower this season, when it comes to flowers they are bold, direct and not afraid to be the center of attention. Burberry opted for embroidered styles in bright colors, while Stine Goya stuck to Scandinavian acid hues. Either way, these are bold florals in any shade of the rainbow.

Checkered prints will definitely make you nostalgic: they take me right back to 2013, when I wore squares at every occasion. Today, MSGM, Chanel and Versace have redeemed the print in dresses with bold and subtle prints that look like school graph paper. I'm still there.
