Internet Says Mother of the Bride Dress Steals the Show (Exclusive)

A mother attracts attention because of the dress she wore to her daughter's wedding.

On Saturday, June 1, Lori Dewitt donned a green floral dress to her daughter Amanda LeBlanc's wedding at the Peter and Paul Hotel in New Orleans. Dewitt discovered the dress at Flora on Madison on Madison Avenue in New York, thanks to an industry friend who put her in touch with store employees.

“Amanda and Amelia, another daughter of mine, were with me when I found the dress! Amanda loved it,” Dewitt shares exclusively with PEOPLE.

“I felt absolutely stunning in this dress and our whole family loved it,” she adds.

After the wedding, Chloé LeBlanc, the couple's wedding content creator, posted a Tic Tac video of Dewitt walking down the aisle in the dress, with the caption: “The most beautiful MOB dress we've ever seen!!!!!”

Since then, the TikTok has gone viral, garnering over 1.6 million views, with many comments expressing concern that Dewitt was upstaging her daughter on her wedding day.

“Don't get me wrong, she looks great in that dress, but it's a bit over the top on a day when her daughter should have been the star of the show,” one person wrote in the comments to the video.

However, Dewitt shares that she has “no regrets” about wearing the dress, and despite the negative comments on the post, many people also agree with her outfit choice.

“Finally! A MOB dress that's NOT DOWDY,” one person commented. “I love it for both of them.”

“I've never seen a MOB dress that I love until now. Absolutely stunning,” someone else wrote.

Today, looking back on that experience, Dewitt says she encourages mothers of the bride to find a dress that makes them feel beautiful and confident.

“It was an amazing weekend, everything was perfect! Amanda and Andrew truly had the best and most special wedding week,” Dewitt said.
