Y-3 spring/summer 2025 at Paris Fashion Week

Y-3 landed last minute at Paris Fashion Week. The collaborative brand born from adidas and Yohji Yamamoto held its first show since fall/winter 2019, returning stronger than ever after international lockdowns.

This unexpected fashion show was nothing less than a spectacle, organized in the Salle Pleyel in Paris, soon occupied by OFFSET, Jorja Smith and PARTYNEXTDOOR. Guests were ushered onto raised grid seats while the main stage was made up of three elongated pillars from alternate realms.

Eerie microphone feedback marked the start of Y-3's first parade in five years, keeping us engaged with building instruments and vibrant light performances. SS25 was split into four parts, with the first featuring a plethora of all-black looks guided by Y-3 signatures. It started with paneled suits with fringe embroidery on the leg, followed by pocketed utility tracksuits with three-stripe accents. Double-brimmed bucket hats accessorize hooded raincoats for everyday use, while technical vests and ruffled shirts are packed with functional details.

Yamamoto previewed his upcoming Japan national soccer team uniforms on the podium, appearing against the illuminated pillars and exchanging glances with sliding lights. The home and away kits were lined with abstract flames and embellished with central JFA logos, moving into the third part with satin bomber jackets and technical uniforms in blurry hues of green, blue and yellow. Y-3's elevated style danced with on-field references throughout, anticipating Yamamoto's final arc with abstract patchwork dresses and color-blocked suits paired with sleek kickoff-ready cleats.
