Givenchy Appoints New CEO | Vogue Business

Judging by the pace of management shakeups and the increasing number of musical chairs games between artistic directors, the luxury industry remains in flux. While Givenchy has yet to name its next artistic director following the departure of Matthew Williams in January, LVMH announced Tuesday that the house has a new CEO: Louis Vuitton’s former EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) president, Alessandro Valenti.

Valenti succeeds Renaud De Lesquen, who has decided to give his career a new direction, according to the press release. De Lesquen had been CEO since 2020.

Givenchy is part of the luxury Fashion Group, which has undergone a number of changes in recent times. On February 1, Michael Burke became chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group, succeeding Sidney Toledano, before the latter returned to lead the brand. The Fashion Group also includes Fendi, Celine, and Loewe. Despite being one of the smaller brands, Givenchy boasts a strong couture heritage. After showing two studio collections in January and February (menswear and womenswear) for fall/winter 2024, the house skipped menswear fashion week in June.

The news comes after LVMH announced the appointment of a new CEO for Fendi, Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou, effective June 1. Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou has been CEO of the LVMH fashion group since March. Meanwhile, there have been persistent rumors of upcoming changes at the creative helm of Celine.

Valenti worked at Versace, Giorgio Armani and Ralph Lauren before joining LVMH in 2014 as CEO of Louis Vuitton France and Monaco. He was subsequently appointed President of Northern and Central Europe and Africa, before being named President of Louis Vuitton for EMEA.

Alessandro has 25 years of international experience. His deep knowledge of the luxury industry, including more than 10 years at Louis Vuitton, as well as his retail expertise and managerial skills will be key assets to help Givenchy reach new milestones, Toledano said in a statement.
