Parents dress their child in prison clothes bearing Darshan's prisoner number '6106'

A couple who got a photoshoot of their baby done in a jail uniform with jailed Kannada superstar Darshan's prisoner number written on it have landed themselves in trouble with the state child rights body which took ex officio cognizance of the matter and asked the police to trace them.

The picture of the baby in a white dress and the image of the handcuffs with actor Darshan's prisoner number have gone viral on social media in Karnataka, raising concerns. The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken ex officio cognizance of the matter and registered a complaint. The commission has also asked the state police to trace the parents.

Commission member Shashidhar Kosambe said on Wednesday that the photoshoot of the baby in this manner was condemnable and hence the matter had been taken to court. Those who had the photoshoot done will be found and legal action will be taken against them.

He said this was also a clear violation of the Juvenile Justice Act. Action will be taken under all provisions of the law, he added.

Meanwhile, Darshan's prisoner number '6106' has gone viral on social media with fans of the actor getting it tattooed and vehicles being branded with the number '6106'. The film board has also been contacted for registration of songs like 'Khaidi No. 6106'. The authorities have expressed concern over the developments.

Darshan, his 'partner' Pavithra Gowda and 15 others have been arrested on charges of murder of Renukaswamy (33), a resident of Chitradurga.

Investigation revealed that Renukaswamy, a huge fan of Darshan, had sent derogatory messages to Pavithra Gowda on social media. The victim was allegedly kidnapped, taken to Bengaluru, kept in a shed and tortured to death. Darshan is currently in judicial custody till July 4.
