Summerfest Attendees Celebrate July 4th in Style

MILWAUKEE Red, white and blue filled the Summerfest grounds Thursday in honor of Independence Day.

The final weekend of Summerfest coincided with the Fourth of July, prompting hundreds of people to show their American pride.

Participants wore colorful shirts, hats, overalls, hair dye and more to honor the holiday.

Nicole and Matt wore patriotic outfits. Nicole wore an American flag vest and visor. Matt had a small American flag clutch.

They told TMJ4 that they have been recovering their equipment for a year.

We saw this hat somewhere and we were like, 'Get it for the Fourth of July,'” Matt said. The vest has the flag on the back, so we got it for the Fourth of July, but I just put a little handkerchief here. We have our wristbands.

Angela and John were out enjoying the holiday in matching shirts. Angela had a festive headband and blue hair in his honor.

They told TMJ4 that they had been racking up compliments all day and were happy to show their pride.

“You have to show your allegiance to your country,” John said. “You have to show your allegiance to the flag. That’s what it’s all about.”

Summerfest ends Saturday.
