Paige DeSorbo Defends Wedding Guests' See-Through Dress After Backlash
Paige DeSorobo has hit back at critics who accused her of wearing a sheer lace dress to a wedding last month.
The “Summer House” star, 31, defended her decision to wear the sexy ensemble to her friend's French wedding during an appearance on the podcast “LadyGang” Tuesday.
“I could defend that choice all day,” she said. “First and foremost, I was in St. Tropez. I wasn’t at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. So it was a very different kind of wedding.”
DeSorbo explained that there were “acrobatic dancers inside flower petals” and other elaborate elements at the lavish black-tie event.
“It wasn’t a typical wedding,” she explained. “And the couple who got married, my girlfriend Alexa and her now-husband Wilton [are] “This is hands down one of the most stylish couples I have ever met. They are simply stunning. They look like a model couple.”
DeSorbo noted that her friend is a stylist and “loves glitz and glamour” and expected the same from her guests.
“I was maybe one of 15 girls who wore see-through dresses because it's fashionable,” she added.
The reality star said she would “never wear” the sheer design to a wedding in America and got approval from friends and even the bride before choosing it.
“So I sent it to all my friends who were also going to the wedding and we sent all our dresses in a group chat and not one person batted an eyelid,” she said. “One of the other girls was in a completely pure [dress] that had like green glitter on it, so I was like, “Oh, we're really good.”
DeSorbo said the bride “loved” her look and that everyone in the bridal party also dressed to impress.
“But I loved that dress,” she concluded. “I'm keeping it and it proved to me once again that few people have attended a wedding in the South of France and I apologize to them.”

DeSorbo sparked controversy in early July after he photos posted from the lavish weekend on Instagram.
“The most beautiful wedding I've ever been to,” she wrote on the carousel, which gave fans an up-close look at the black gown. The dress featured an underwired corset top and a sheer lace skirt with a thigh-high slit.
Although DeSorbo insisted she didn't commit any faux pas at the wedding, she suggested a few other guests did.
The Bravo star said she saw a few girls wearing extremely light colors while attending pre-wedding ceremonies.
“We had different lunches and I saw a lot of girls wearing white,” DeSorbo said. “I like to go to different wedding events.”
DeSorbo said one woman even wore a “pale yellow” dress to the wedding that looked more like “ivory.”
“I looked her up and down and thought, ‘You should be ashamed of yourself,’” she said. “I never thought people would do the exact same thing to me!”
