Four major brands to open Milan Fashion Week in September
Milano Moda Donna has released the first draft of its calendar for the next edition of Milano Moda Donna, scheduled for September 17-23, with 58 physical shows and three online shows.
Among the newcomers are Susan Fang, supported by Dolce&Gabbana, Federico Cina and two names of oriental origin: the Vietnamese Phan Dang Hoang, already present in the digital calendar, and Chicco Mao, a brand born in Beijing in 2014 but whose founder Maobaobao studied at Marangoni. Also making a comeback in the calendar are The Attico and Laura Biagiotti.
Unlike September 2023, where the first day was dedicated solely to the Milano Moda Graduate new talent event, this time, on September 17, in addition to Milano Moda Graduate, four important brands take to the stage: Fendi, Marni, Alberta Ferretti and Iceberg. Both Marni and Iceberg offer men's and women's clothing on the platform, a very popular trend at this point.
Among the protagonists of September 18 are Antonio Marras, Luisa Beccaria, Boss, Marco Rambaldi, Jil Sander, N21, Roberto Cavalli and Etro.
The 19th is the day of Max Mara, Genny, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Prada, Federico Cina, MM6 Maison Margiela while rumors thicken about creative director John Galliano, Moschino with the second attempt at Appiolaza in womenswear, GCDS and Emporio Armani with a double show, to name a few.
On the 20th, Tod's led by artistic director Matteo Tamburini, Phan Dang Hoang, Sportmax, Gucci, also at the Triennale, Missoni, Sunnei, Elisabetta Franchi and Versace will parade.
Ferrari will open the parades on September 21. This will be followed by Ermanno Scervino, Ferragamo, Luisa Spagnoli, Bally, Dolce&Gabbana, Diesel, The Attico, Laura Biagiotti, Bottega Veneta and others, to close the day with Philipp Plein.
Back on stage, Andreadamo on the 22nd, preceded by Susan Fang with the support of Dolce&Gabbana. They are followed by Hui, Avavav, Francesca Liberatore and Chiccomao, among others. Gala evening at the Teatro alla Scala with the Cnmi Sustainable Fashion Awards but, as announced by Camera Moda, the headline tickets for the month of September will also include important anniversaries to celebrate.
The last day, the 23rd, is exclusively digital, with Defaience by Nicola Bacchilega, Jacob Cohën and a name that will be revealed soon.
Missing from the call: Giorgio Armani, who is skipping the presentation of his collection in New York in October but promises to return at the next stop, Blumarine, where, following the departure of Walter Chiapponi, the position of artistic director is still vacant.
MSGM, which presented its co-ed collection at men's fashion week last June to celebrate its 15th anniversary, is also absent. Tom Ford, who recently announced the departure of his creative director Peter Hawkings, will present the collection in the showroom.
