Uhlfelder filed a lawsuit last month requesting that DeSantis be forced to close all beaches in the state.
Earlier this month, DeSantis said it would allow the opening of the beaches at the discretion of local leaders. Just a day after this announcement, hundreds of people were swarming to the beaches of Floridas.
Floridas’ “safer home” statewide order expires Thursday, and DeSantis is expected to unveil a plan on Wednesday for a gradual reopening of the state’s economy.
