Jan.6 organizers reportedly used Burner phones to communicate with Eric Trump

Organizers of the Jan. 6 rally near the White House, where then-President Donald Trump spoke before the Capitol riot, reportedly used cell phones to communicate with senior Trump officials, including her son Eric Trump, Rolling Stone reported on Tuesday.

Kylie Kremer, a leader of the March for Trump group who helped organize the rally at the Ellipse, reportedly told an aide to buy three cellphones while planning the event and said he was in the of utmost importance that they be paid in cash.

So-called “burner” phones are inexpensive prepaid mobile phones, usually purchased for temporary use to protect user anonymity.

Kremer used one of the phones to communicate with top White House and Trump campaign officials, including Eric Trump and his wife Lara Trump, then White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, and Katrina Pierson, former door Speaking of the Trump campaign, three sources involved in the event told Rolling Stone.

A second phone was handed over to Kremers’ mother Amy Kremer, another key organizer of the rally, a member of the March for Trump team told the magazine. The source said they did not know who the third phone was for.

The phones were said to have been used for any conversation between Kylie Kremer and the White House or the Trump family, with many crucial planning discussions surrounding them.

At the Save America rally at the Ellipse, which preceded the violent attack on the United States Capitol, Trump encouraged supporters to march to the Capitol to protest the Electoral College’s pro forma vote count, which had cemented the victory of Joe Bidens in the presidential election.

The special House committee investigating the Jan.6 attack has subpoenaed the two Kremers, along with a myriad of other rally planners and senior Trump officials, including Meadows. Steve Bannon, a former White House strategist, has been charged with contempt of Congress after refusing to comply with a House committee subpoena.

Women for America First, the pro-Trump group chaired by Amy Kremer and led by Kylie Kremer, who also helped plan the Save America rally at the Ellipse, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the report.
