Boris Johnson’s aide seen at Partygate quiz in Downing Street quits his job as cops issue fines

A Boris Johnson aide who was pictured with tinsel around his neck at the party’s Christmas quiz in Downing Street has quit his job.

Stuart Glassborow, who was the Prime Minister’s Deputy Principal Private Secretary, held a “tea and cake” rally on Friday to mark his departure from office.

It comes as the Metropolitan Police begin to fine Number 10 staff for another Christmas quiz held the same week, according to the sunday mirror.

Glassborow was earlier named as one of those set to be sacked as the Prime Minister battles to save his own job.

On Sunday shimmer reports that the assistant is taking “extended leave over the summer” before moving into his new role.

Earlier this year the Mirror published a picture of two Johnsons staff in issue 10, alongside the Prime Minister and a bottle of champagne during a quiz.

Glassborow was pictured staring at a screen with fairy lights around his neck during the covid lockdown.

A number of employees participated in the quiz in person on December 15, 2020, despite claims that it was an online event.

A source told our sister newspaper that Glassborow wasn’t leaving because of partygate, but because he wanted to do something new.

Cops have reportedly started issuing fines to those who attended the holiday party, which took place on December 18, 2020.

The party, first revealed by the Mirror, was reportedly attended by 40 of Johnson’s top teams.

The Downing Street media team dodged questions for a week before a video released by ITV showed staff joking about it.

Officials spilled wine glasses and held a secret Santa while the rest of the country was forced to stay home.

The Prime Minister claimed in the House of Commons that all covid guidelines had been followed, but video emerged of a mock press conference in which press officer Allegra Stratton joked about knees up and lack of social distancing.

She later quit following the emergence of the video.

Number 10 declined to comment except to confirm that the Prime Minister has not received any further fines at this time.

Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless.
