PM Modi to Inaugurate Revamped Temple in Gujarats Pavagadh | Latest India News




Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Gujarat from Friday evening, will inaugurate the revamped Shree Kalika Mata temple on Pavagadh hill on Saturday.

After visiting the temple at around 9:15 a.m., the prime minister will visit Virasat Van at 11:30 a.m. according to his official visit schedule.

The Shree Kalika Mata temple is one of the oldest temples in the region and attracts a large number of pilgrims. The redevelopment of the temple was done in two phases. The inauguration of the first phase of the redevelopment was made by the Prime Minister earlier this year in April. The foundation stone for the second phase redevelopment was laid by Prime Minister Modi in 2017. This includes expanding the base of the temples and the parisar to three levels, installing amenities like street lights, a CCTV, etc., according to a government statement.

Around 12:30 p.m., he will participate in the Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan in Vadodara, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth more than 21,000 crores.

Beneficiaries of various government programs will attend Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan in Vadodara. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for various rail projects estimated to cost more than 16,000 crores. These include the 357 km New Palanpur Madar section of the dedicated freight corridor; Gauge conversion of the 166 km long Ahmedabad Botad section; electrification of the 81 km long Palanpur -Mitha section, among others.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Surat, Udhna, Somnath and Sabarmati railway stations, as well as other initiatives in the rail sector. These projects will help reduce logistics costs and boost the region’s industrial and agricultural sector. They will also improve connectivity in the region and improve passenger amenities.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a total of 1.38 lakh houses will be consecrated by the Prime Minister, including houses worth around 1,800 crore in urban areas and higher value homes 1,530 crore in rural areas. In addition, the foundation stone laying ceremony of approximately 3,000 houses worth more than 310 crores will also be made.

During the programme, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation stones for various development works at Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Panchmahal worth more than 680 crores.

He will also lay the foundation stone of the Central University of Gujarat in Kundhela village of Dabhoi taluka of Gujarat. Located about 20 km from the city of Vadodara, the University will be built at a cost of about 743 crores and will serve the higher education needs of over 2,500 students.

The new campus of the Central University of Gujarat will not only provide quality education to the youths but also generate many opportunities nationally and internationally, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said in a statement on Friday.

The new campus is fully residential and equipped with modern facilities. Nearly 2,500 students can study at the same time at this campus… The first phase of this project will be completed by December 2023, said Dr. Rama Shanker Dubey, Vice Chancellor of Central Gujarat University.

The campus will be divided into five academic blocks including the School of Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Nanosciences, Environmental and Sustainable Development, Applied Materials Sciences, National Security, International Relations, and Tourism Studies. The laboratories and classrooms have been developed according to international standards and are equipped with the latest equipment, said Professor HB Patel, Registrar of the university.

This will be the Prime Minister’s fourth visit to his home state in the past two months, where he has dedicated several development projects to the people. During his visit, the PM will also dedicate several and lay the foundation stones for water supply projects worth 660.26 crores. About one million people in the state will benefit from the projects, according to a statement from the government of Gujarat.
