Piers Morgan mocks Boris Johnson on GMB after resumption of parking fees for NHS staff

Piers Morgan launched a scathing attack on the government’s choice to reintroduce parking fees for NHS staff, before mocking the Prime Minister.

Appearing on the show alongside Susanna Reid, Piers lambasted the choice to reintroduce the charges, which will see most NHS employees paying to park in hospitals.

“For years, we have been saying on this program, it should never happen anyway,” said Piers, staring at the camera barrel.

He added: “It seems completely ridiculous to me that doctors, nurses and surgeons and everyone else in the health care system has to pay the privilege of going to the hospital to save our lives.

“It seemed completely ridiculous and particularly obscene to me when a global pandemic strikes this country and risks its own life.

“We know that several hundred NHS workers have died, risking their lives for us, so what is their reward?

“Their reward is that they will charge everyone who works in our health system to park in hospitals again.

“You have to pay the privilege of risking your life!”

After talking for almost five minutes, Piers aimed at the Prime Minister and continued to mock him live:

“Are we going to come back and make them pay for the right to park in a hospital? If so, we as a country think we should treat our NHS heroes, then this is not a country whose I want to be a part. “

“I don’t think that’s what most British people want, and again, the government is completely deaf.”

Piers then launched his attack on Boris Johnson, imitating his voice like a clip of the Prime Minister applauding for the 72nd anniversary of the NHS:

“I don’t want any more videos of these people cheering for the NHS and social workers … there it is, watch!

“‘Fantastic people, fantastic people, now can we start charging them again?'”

A poll on the Good Morning Britain Twitter channel asked users if NHS parking costs should resume.

In just 1 hour after the survey was launched, more than 9,000 people voted, 90% agreeing with Piers Morgan, that parking fees for NHS staff should be eliminated.
