Nadine Dorries will have her own show and interview Boris Johnson
Her new program, titled Friday Night with Nadine, will air on TalkTV every Friday at 8 p.m. and will include news, politics, sports and culture.
Her interview with Mr Johnson will air on his first show on February 3, with Ms Dorries hinting that Shell will press him on a range of issues.
The MP and former Culture Secretary said: As someone who has never been afraid to speak out, I am delighted to join the TalkTV team for Friday Night with Nadine, where I will put my political career from 23 years and my experiences in box shipping to good use.
Boris Johnson has continued to dominate much of the political narrative since leaving No 10. Now is the time to find out what he really thinks about a range of pressing issues.
When Ms Dorries replaced Piers Morgan last October, she repeatedly made mistakes when playing the autocue.
She pushed her way through an introduction when she co-hosted with Evening Standard editor Emily Sheffield and admitted: I screwed up.
At the time, many viewers took the opportunity to criticize her, but she responded by explaining that she had dyslexia.
She wrote in a tweet: I have dyslexia, which means when I speak I often conjugate my words and say things that sound like the words I’m trying to say.
Dyslexia affects people differently. For me, it affects my speech more than my writing, which is why I find solace in writing.
Richard Wallace, head of television, newscasting at TalkTV, said Ms Dorries had a unique voice.
He continued: She has had a seat at the highest table of British politics for extraordinary times; knows all the key players and has a real insight into how the corridors of power actually work.
And, as a former nurse, she’s one of the few politicians who’s had a decent job and worried about paying the bills, so our audience is going to rejoice.
The announcement follows the revelation that Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg will also have his own chat show on rival TV channel GB News.
