Party leader Gerindra and his presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto have opened up the possibility of working with the Indonesian Democratic Struggle Party (PDI-P) for the upcoming presidential race after the ruling party nominated the governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo as presidential candidate.
“We’ll see. All possibilities can [happen]. What is important in politics is that we seek good for the nation and the people,” Prabowo told reporters on Saturday after performing the Idul Fitri prayer at the Al Azhar Grand Mosque in South Jakarta, Quoted by Kompas.com.
Prabowo, who lost to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo in the last two presidential elections, was said to be among the presidential candidates Jokowi was considering endorsing as his potential successor, and made a substantial electoral gain as a result of a series of high-level meetings with other political elites.
