Russian PM to Xi Jinping: China ties strengthened by ‘sensational pressure’ from West

Relations between the two nations are “at an unprecedented level” amid “increased turbulence on the international scene and a pattern of sensational pressure from the collective West,” Mishustin said.
The Russian prime minister’s visit coincides with Moscow’s growing reliance on China for diplomatic and economic support amid growing isolation from the world following its invasion of Ukraine.
In his opening remarks, Mishustin ignored the 15-month war with Ukraine and instead focused on the economic cooperation between the two countries that has exploded in challenging Washington’s lead in global affairs.
