GOP donor says Donald Trump should quit for 2 reasons

Texas-based investor Hal Lambert this week became the latest Republican donor to publicly dump former President Donald Trump.

Lambert told Fox Business Neil Cavuto on Tuesday that he would now do whatever I can to help Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) win the GOP presidential nomination and then the White House. DeSantis is expected to kick off his 2024 campaign in a livestream with Twitter owner Elon Musk on Wednesday,

First, Donald Trump can only serve one term, said Lambert, who served on Trump’s inaugural committee. Hell would actually be a lame duck on almost day one if he were to win.

But I don’t think he can win the overall. This is reason number two, he explained. There are states that matter and we all know what that is. It’s going to be things like Nevada and Arizona and Virginia, Wisconsin. I don’t see Trump winning any of these states. And so we can’t win if we don’t win those states.

Lambert said DeSantis, who in recent months has embraced a number of extremist policies in Florida, has done an incredible job as governor and offered America a vision for the future, without looking back.

I think Donald Trump should drop out of the race, quite frankly, for the betterment of the country, he added of the GOP frontrunner. I think he should give up the race.
