Fox News will hold a town hall with Donald Trump in June

Fox News will hold a town hall meeting with former US President Donald Trump in early June, a network spokesperson confirmed to The Desk on Thursday.

The town hall will be hosted by Fox News primetime personality Sean Hannity and airs Thursday, June 1 at 9 p.m. The broadcast will be taped earlier today during an appearance by Trump in Clive, Iowa.

It will be the second time Trump has appeared on a town hall-style show on a cable news channel since announcing his intention to run for a second term as president in March. His first mayoral event aired earlier this month on CNN.

CNN’s town hall event with Trump drew more than 3 million concurrent viewers, but the ratings victory didn’t last for the network, which was bombarded with criticism from viewers and media pundits in the days that followed. Two days after the town hall event, Nielsen ratings showed CNN lagging center-right commentary channel Newsmax, with its prime-time lineup drawing around 335,000 viewers.
