JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is due to visit China this week.
The Head of State’s visit to the Land of the Bamboo Curtain was conveyed by Foreign Minister (Menlu) Retno Marsudi to reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta on Tuesday (25/7/2023).
Foreign Minister Retno said there were three main items on the agenda of Jokowi’s visit to China.
“The president is going to (city) Chengdu. He will be there on July 27 and 28. The main program is to hold a bilateral meeting with President Xi Jinping,” Retno said.

The second agenda that Jokowi will carry out in China is a meeting with great businessmen of this country.
Then the third item on the agenda is to respond to an invitation from President Xi Jinping to attend the opening of the Summer World University Games in Chengdu.
“So (attend) a week of sporting events like the Olympics. But, this time level-it is a global university,” Retno said.
When asked if there was a special mission brought by President Jokowi during his visit to China this time, Retno was still reluctant to provide leaks. Including, when asked about the mission to strengthen economic relations between Indonesia and China.
