PM Modi to unveil Deendayal Upadhyaya statue today, launch welfare schemes in Maharashtra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address over a million members of women's self-help groups at a rally in Maharashtra's Yavatmal district on Wednesday afternoon. It will disburse Rs 825 crore of funds for self-help groups in Maharashtra.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, co-founder of the BJP's predecessor Bharatiya Jana Sangh, in Yavatmal.
According to a statement issued by the government, the Prime Minister will distribute funds under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi and Maharashtra Rajya Namo Shetkari Samman Yojana, which involves an annual credit of Rs 12,000 (Rs 6,000 each from the Center and the State) to the farmers.
PM Modi will start distribution of one crore Ayushman Bharat cards across Maharashtra.
It will also launch the Modi Awaas Gharkul Yojana for OBC category beneficiaries in Maharashtra and transfer the first installment of Rs 375 crore to the 2.5 lakh beneficiaries of the scheme, the statement said.
He will inaugurate irrigation projects worth Rs 2,750 crore in Marathwada and Vidarbha regions of Maharashtra.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate several railway projects worth over 1,300 crores in Maharashtra during his visit. It will also launch two train services, one connecting Kalamb to Wardha and another connecting Amalner to New Ashti.
