Donald Trump faces competition from a radio shock in the market for gold sneakers

It looks like Donald Trump now has some competition in the gold high-top sneaker game, and it's coming from an unlikely source, Bubba The Love Sponge, at half price.

That's probably not a sentence anyone would have expected to read, but it's 2024 and so here we are.

Probably also a few of you are wondering who the hell Bubba The Love Sponge is, and probably some of you are also wondering where the hell this guy has been.

BTLS, real name Todd Alan Clem, is a popular radio talk show host who has previously appeared on Howard Stern's SIRIUS XM stations. After a series of missteps, he doesn't have quite the same radio reach as before, but you can watch his show every day on Rumble and he also releases his show as a podcast on other platforms. He still has a large following he calls the Bubba Army.

But back to the shoes.

BTLS released a shoe almost identical to the gold high-top that Trump showed off at Phillys Sneaker Con. Instead of a big T on the side, however, the shoes have a red silhouette of BTLS' Air Jordan Jumpman logo flying through the air to dunk a donut.

The BTLS site states that these are a very limited edition, identical to the Trump shoes, except for the Bubba logos.
