Erdogan holds telephone conversation with Qatari Emir over situation in Gaza Strip
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by telephone with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamed Al Thani, on several regional issues, including the situation in the Gaza Strip, reports the Anadolu agency.
The Turkish Presidency Communications Directorate said Erdogan and Al-Thani discussed Turkey-Qatar relations, global and regional issues, Israeli attacks on Gaza and the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian enclave.
Erdogan said the Islamic world should step up efforts in unity to stop Israel's brutal attacks and punish it for its crimes against humanity.
Erdogan said it was vital to contain Israel as quickly as possible and act with common sense to prevent the spread of tensions in the region.
Erdoğan and Qatari Emir Al Thani also exchanged greetings on the occasion of Ramadan.
