Nation looks to Imran Khan, says Haleem Sheikh

KARACHI – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh Chairman Haleem Adil Sheikh along with General Secretary's Counsel Ali Palh held an important press conference at Insaf House Karachi along with PTI leaders.

Addressing the press conference, Haleem Adil Sheikh said that the nation witnessed on February 8 and again on April 21 the blatant fraud that took place in the elections. The decisions made by the nation have not been recognized and decision-makers seem deaf to the heartbeat of the nation. The nation looks to Imran Khan.

Sheikh reiterated that on February 8, our warrant was stolen and on April 21, a broad daylight robbery took place on the warrant. Mandates from across Punjab were stolen during the by-elections. Until we get our mandate back, Imran Khan will not be released. Regarding Bushra Bibi's health, Sheikh expressed concern, citing reports suggesting her life is in danger. Our Assembly members have submitted a resolution to the Sindh Assembly demanding immediate personal medical treatment for Bushra Bibi, who is our first lady and is being unfairly targeted to put pressure on Imran Khan.

Sheikh stressed that holding peaceful public rallies and gatherings is our legal right. While the PPP government chants democratic slogans, it denies us the right to hold public rallies and gatherings. The political activities of the PTI were restricted. When we held a rally, Karachi was put under lockdown. He added that we had requested a rally on April 28, but permission had not yet been granted. We expect the Sindh High Court to grant us permission on the 26th and we will now hold a public rally on May 5 at Bagh-e-Jinnah ground.

He assured that everyone who voted for PTI would join our rally. Our rally will take place at Mazar-e-Quaid Ground on May 5. On April 26, protests will take place across the country against rigging, followed on Thursday by a spiritual foundation day celebration at Maison Insaf. On May 5, a rally will be held in Karachi. We stand with the nation and our fight will continue until we regain our flight mandate.

Addressing foreign policy, Sheikh lamented that the country's foreign policy has failed and the economy relies solely on charity. We welcome the visit of the Iranian president. Sheikh also commented on the deteriorating law and order situation in Sindh, especially in Karachi, due to targeted killings, making lives and properties of citizens dangerous.
