Court orders appearance of Imran Khan and others in Section 144 violation case

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The court has ordered appearance of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and others in two cases registered at Ramna police station for violation of Section 144.

Justice Tahir Abbas Sipra of the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad heard the case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and others for violation of Article 144.

PTI leaders Senator Shibli Faraz, Ali Nawaz Awan, Wasiq Qayyum and others appeared before the court. PTI lawyers Sardar Muhammad Maroof Advocate and Naeem Panjoota Advocate also appeared before the court.

The PTI lawyer informed the court that more than 50 accused have been discharged from these two cases, while others could not appear before the court due to their absconding.

The lawyer claimed that the people who appeared before the court should be released under Article 265 D.

Judge Tahir Abas Sipra noted that the case has not reached the stage to deliver a verdict on the accused.

Imran Khan's lawyer submitted that the information on Imran Khan's production order was sought during the last hearing of this case.

The court noted that there had been no response to the report and ordered all the accused to appear before the court to prosecute the case.

Accordingly, the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad adjourned the hearing till June 28.
