China denies fueling Russia-Ukraine war tensions, says supports peace | Russia-Ukraine War

China said it believed all efforts should be recognized to support peace measures around the Russo-Ukrainian war, rejecting accusations by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that it was trying with Russia to undermine the peace summit scheduled for this month in Switzerland.

Beijing called for a peace conference with equal participation of all parties, including Russia, which was not invited.
The Ukrainian peace plan calls for the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, the restoration of its 1991 post-Soviet borders and holding Russia accountable for its actions.
China also released a peace plan that Putin said last month shows Beijing understands the root causes of the conflict and its global geopolitical significance. The 12-point plan received a mixed reception when it was first published a year after the Russian invasion, with analysts noting a lack of concrete proposals.
There is still an obvious gap between the modalities of the meeting and the Chinese side's demands, as well as the general expectations of the international community, Mao said. This makes it difficult for China to participate in the meeting.
