Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged his supporters to remove the suffix 'Modi Ka Parivar' from their social media handles, saying the election victory of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance effectively delivered the message it was meant to convey .
In March, BJP members and its supporters identified themselves in large numbers on social media as “Modi Ka Parivar” (Modi's family), following insults from opposition leader Lalu Prasad Yadav who criticized him for not having a family of his own. The Prime Minister replied that the Indian people were his family.
