Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) summoned a number of ministers to hold a limited meeting (Ratas) regarding the implementation of the 21st Aceh National Sports Week – North Sumatra and Papernas (PON) in 2024.
“This afternoon's limited meeting continued discussions regarding preparations for the 21st PON to be held in Nangroe Aceh Darussalam and North Sumatra,” Jokowi said when opening the meeting, at Merdeka Palace, Thursday (13/6/2024).
This PON will take place from September 8 to 20, 2024. This means, Jokowi continued, that there are only 88 days left to prepare.
Furthermore, when he wanted to begin his presentation, the Coordinating Minister of Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, said that later in the implementation of this PON, all sports would be competed. There are at least 15,000 athletes and officials involved.
“It is estimated that 11,600 athletes and 5,800 officials will be involved,” Muhadjir said.
