PM Modi orders comprehensive counter-terrorism measures in J&K; The DGP warns local collaborators of serious consequences

This recent encounter follows a series of terrorist attacks in the Jammu and Kashmir region in recent days.
The Jammu and Kashmir region witnessed an upsurge in violence with three major attacks: Reasi terror attack, Kathua terror attack and Doda terror attack.
The first incident was reported on June 9, when terrorists targeted a bus in Reasi, causing it to plunge into a gorge, killing at least nine pilgrims and injuring 42 others.
Earlier, a Special Operations Group (SOG) officer was injured in an encounter in Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.
Earlier today, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police RR Swain issued a stern warning to local officers aiding foreign terrorists, saying they would face serious consequences for their actions. Following the recent terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Swain highlighted that these local collaborators, “enemy agents”, motivated by monetary or narcotic incentives, have significant personal stakes, including families, land and jobs. By supporting terrorism, they not only endanger their own lives, but also the safety of their loved ones.
Swain stressed that these individuals will be identified and severely dealt with by security forces. “While foreign terrorists, who often have nothing to lose, are willing to sacrifice their lives, their local supporters will deeply regret their decisions,” he said. Swain emphasized that these collaborators are at much greater risk and will face serious repercussions beyond the immediate physical danger. This warning serves both as a deterrent to potential collaborators and as a promise of strict action against existing ones.
