Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood acquitted in PTI's Azadi March case

ISLAMABAD: A sessions court in Islamabad on Thursday acquitted former Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI chief Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the Azadi March case, ARY News reported.

According to details, Judicial Magistrate Malik Muhammad Imran announced the reserved verdict and acquitted PTI founder Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and AML leader Sheikh Rasheed.

The court also ordered the acquittal of Sadaqat Abbasi and Ali Nawaz Awan in the Azadi March case.

It is noteworthy that several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and others, have been arrested by the police in various FIRs related to the march. Azadi.

The police registered 42 cases against senior PTI leaders and workers for agitation following the clashes that broke out between the police and the PTI leader in the provincial capital.

In January this year, the PTI founder and the party's vice president were each sentenced to 10 years in prison in an encryption case.
