Jokowi will take office at IKN next month

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) plans to open an office in the archipelago capital (IKN), East Kalimantan, in July 2024. For this reason, the construction of the President's Office is one of the priority construction projects .
Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Diana Kusumastuti, said that currently, the construction progress of the President's Office has reached 84 percent.

Diana explained that later, IKN would be supported by several natural resource infrastructures to meet IKN's drinking water needs. Later, there will be a water treatment plant (IPA) extracted from the Sepaku Semoi Dam with a capacity of 350 liters/second.
“Then I will also auction an additional 300 liters per second at Sepaku later to provide additional anticipation to the population,” he added.
As additional information, Jokowi previously stated that he would start having an office in the archipelago capital (IKN) in July. Jokowi expressed this while reviewing the ground readiness of the Independence Day ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia.

Via Instagram, Jokowi said he checked the readiness of the ceremony grounds today. Jokowi said preparations were almost complete. He also said that the infrastructure of the first phase of IKN has reached 80%.
