President Jokowi donates sacrificial cows to Belu residents
KATANTT.COM —Indonesian President Joko Widodo donated around 900 tons of sacrificial animals to the people of Belu Regency on the RI-RDTL border on the occasion of Eid al-Adha 1445 AH in 2024 AD.
“Thanks to Allah SWT, because this year, Belu Regency, through the Al Mujahidin Atambua Grand Mosque, was designated as one of the beneficiaries of the sacrificial cow assistance of the President of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Belu Regency, H. Abdullah Belajam, Saturday (15/6/2024).
It was explained that based on the results of communications with the Belu Regional Government through the Head of the Social Welfare Department some time ago, the sacrificial animals that would be donated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia weighed between 900 kg and 1 ton.
“We have a photo of this animal as a member of the Al Mujahidin Atambua Grand Mosque committee,” Abdullah said.
He continued, the final communication regarding the handover of the sacrificial animals from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, H Abdullah, was clear that they would be delivered and escorted by the NTT Provincial Animal Husbandry Service which would be handed over directly by the acting governor. from NTT.
“The latest information indicates that there has been no change in who handed over the sacrificial animal to the President of the Republic of Indonesia. However, we still received information that the person who handed it over directly was the acting governor of NTT,” Addullah said.
It was said that when handing over the sacrificial animals, Al Mujahidin Atambua Grand Mosque, through the Sacrificial Animal Welcoming Committee, prepared a special place to drop off and receive the sacrificial animals.
“Considering that the animal is quite heavy, we fear that things that we do not want, such as a slipping of the foot, could have fatal consequences. Our committee is therefore working much more by preparing a special small tent and putting in grass on it,” Abdullah said.
He continued, the handover of the sacrificial animal to the President of the Republic of Indonesia will take place on June 17, 2024. For this reason, the committee also coordinated with the Belu Livestock Service to jointly see the handing over of the sacrificial animal.
“The handover of President Jokowi's sacrificial cows will take place after the Eid al-Adha prayers on the ground, followed by the handover ceremony of the sacrificial animals at the Al Mujahidin Grand Mosque, Atambua,” Abdullah concluded.
