On June 14, Turkish right-wing opposition party İYİ (Good) MP Seyithan İzsiz resigned from his party.
In a statement, İzsiz said: “I regret to express that my words, my attitude and my principles are no longer compatible with the party. In this regard, I would like to inform the public that I have resigned and ended my political association with the İYİ Party.
The İYİ Party had won 43 seats in the 2023 general elections. With the consecutive resignations, this figure fell to 35.
After their resignation, Ayşe Sibel Yanıkömeroğlu and Aykut Kaya joined the Republican People's Party (CHP), while Nebi Hatipoğlu joined the Justice and Development Party (AKP).
Hatipoğlu was also the AKP candidate for Eskişehir mayor in the March 31 local elections.
Other resigning deputies remain independent.
Despite receiving 9.69 percent of the vote in the 2023 general elections, the party remained at 3.77 percent in the March 31 local elections after withdrawing from the People's Alliance, the main party. 'opposition.
