New Delhi: After Bharatiya Janta Party's sabpar performance in the Maharashra Lok Sabha elections, opposition NCP founder Sharad Pawar took a dig and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the alliance's victory Maha Vikas Aghadi in 30 of the 48 seats in the state. The alliance includes Pawar's party, former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena faction and the Congress.
Intending that the BJP would lose in areas under Modi's campaign umbrella, Pawar said, “We thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating a favorable political environment for the MVA.” »

According to reports, data shows that Modi and the BJP lost 15 of the 18 seats they had campaigned for. They won only in Mumbai North, Mumbai North West and Satara. The others, including Beed, Latur, Nashik, Mumbai North East and Pune, were won by the MVA parties. Sharad Pawar's NCP secured eight seats, while Ajit Pawar's faction could secure only one seat.
